Wecan Group establishes an Advisory Board bringing together three figures of the Swiss financial centre

Geneva, 22 September 2026 — Wecan Group, a provider of compliance solutions for financial institutions and a subsidiary of SEALSQ Corp (Nasdaq: LAES), announces the creation of its Advisory Board. The advisory body brings together three recognised figures from private banking, governance, and risk and compliance management: Laurent Pellet, Partner at Groupe Lombard Odier and Global Head of EAM; Erika Beaumier, Strategic Advisor, independent director and member of supervisory bodies for financial intermediaries (OSIF, ARIF); and Philippe Turrian, Head of Wealth Management and member of the Executive Committee of Banque Syz.

Strengthening governance in the age of AI-augmented compliance

The creation of this Advisory Board comes at a pivotal moment for Wecan. Following SEALSQ's acquisition of a majority stake, the company is accelerating the development of its Compliance Copilot, a platform natively designed around artificial intelligence covering onboarding, document intelligence, screening, perpetual KYC and periodic reviews.

In a sector where the automation of compliance processes touches the core of institutions' regulatory obligations, the legitimacy of a solution is not measured by its technology alone. It is built with those who carry responsibility for these processes day after day.

The Advisory Board's purpose is to advise Wecan on its strategic direction and product roadmap. Its work will focus on three areas: the evolution of Swiss and international regulatory requirements; the operational priorities of private banks, independent asset managers and other financial intermediaries; and Wecan's development in its target markets.

Three complementary areas of expertise

Laurent Pellet is a Partner at Groupe Lombard Odier, where he leads the External Asset Managers business globally. He brings Wecan a deep knowledge of Swiss private banking and of the independent asset manager ecosystem, together with an international view of the markets in which this model is developing.

Erika Beaumier began her legal career in Canada before joining the Pictet Group, where she spent eighteen years, notably as Co-Global Head of Compliance at Pictet Asset Management and then as Head of HR at Pictet Wealth Management, of which she was a member of the Executive Committee. She sits today on the board of directors of Climber Capital SA as well as on the supervisory bodies for financial intermediaries (OSIF, ARIF), and chairs the "Strategic & AI Governance Advisory Board" of HARVN Labs. Her experience in compliance, risk management, human resources and governance — including on the issues specific to artificial intelligence — will bring valuable insight to Wecan.

Philippe Turrian is Head of Wealth Management at Banque Syz, a Geneva-based family institution founded in 1996, and a member of the bank's Executive Committee. He began his career at McKinsey & Company in Geneva as a consultant, before joining the Pictet Group in 2010. There he was appointed Head of Client Solutions & Marketing and a member of the Executive Committee in 2015, then Chief Operating Officer of Pictet Wealth Management in 2018. His experience of client relationships at the highest level of Swiss private banking, combined with a deep understanding of operating models, brings the committee a perspective that technology alone cannot reconstruct: that of the institution which must reconcile compliance requirements with quality of service.

Quotes

Acquiring a majority stake in Wecan reflects our conviction that digital trust will be the critical infrastructure of the financial sector. Establishing this Advisory Board gives Wecan what no technology can replace: the judgement of professionals who have practised, regulated and advised at the highest level of private banking. It is an accelerator for our shared ambition.

— Carlos Moreira, Founder, Chairman & CEO of SEALSQ

We are building a platform that takes on regulated processes at the heart of our clients' business. That responsibility requires being well surrounded. Laurent, Erika and Philippe know these processes from the inside — from private banking, from supervision and from governance. Having them alongside us holds us to a higher standard, and that is exactly what we are looking for in the next stage of our growth.

— Dr Vincent Pignon, Founder & CEO of Wecan Group

Compliance has become a structuring issue for banks and independent asset managers alike. The solutions that will make the difference are those that combine regulatory rigour with simplicity of use. I have followed Wecan's development from the very beginning and I am convinced of the relevance of its approach; it is a pleasure to contribute to its thinking.

— Laurent Pellet, Partner and Global Head External Asset Managers, Groupe Lombard Odier

In a fast-moving environment, faced with ever broader regulatory requirements, AI-enhanced technology is a growing lever for managing both current and emerging risks. It nonetheless calls for robust governance: explainable models, reliable and protected data, traceable decisions, human oversight at the decisive steps, and clearly established accountability. Framed in this way, AI can widen the scope of controls, automate repetitive tasks and, in doing so, concentrate teams' expertise more fully on key risks. I am delighted to join Wecan's Advisory Board.

— Erika Beaumier, Strategic Advisor, independent director, member of the OSIF and ARIF supervisory bodies

In private banking, regulatory requirements and the quality of the client relationship are too often presented as a trade-off. They are not: it is a tooling problem. Onboarding and periodic review processes absorb a considerable amount of time that benefits neither the client nor the banker, and that is precisely where technology has a role to play. Wecan's approach strikes me as right because it starts from operational reality rather than from a technical demonstration.

— Philippe Turrian, Head of Wealth Management, Banque Syz
