Zurich / Geneva, 8 September 2026 — Aquila AG, a leading Swiss bank dedicated to independent asset managers and family offices, has selected Wecan as its Client Lifecycle Management (CLM) platform. The solution covers onboarding, periodic review and changes in circumstances across the bank's full client base. The decision follows a competitive request for proposal (RFP) process, and the project is currently in implementation.
Aquila evaluated the market against a demanding set of criteria: regulatory robustness, the ability to industrialise onboarding and periodic reviews end-to-end — from the asset management firm through to the underlying client relationships — without diluting service quality, and a credible, controlled use of artificial intelligence in a regulated banking environment. Wecan was retained on the strength of a platform that combines automation with a sovereign deployment model — data remaining under Swiss control — and a deterministic approach to AI, where every outcome is explainable, reproducible and auditable rather than probabilistic and opaque.
Handling both intermediaries and end clients on a single platform gives Aquila one consistent view of each relationship, one set of controls, and a single audit trail — removing the fragmentation that typically slows down onboarding and periodic reviews in an intermediated model.
For Aquila, the project is one component of a broader transformation designed to accelerate the bank's development and strengthen its capacity to scale and further improve service quality for clients and partners, while preserving the values that have defined the institution since its foundation: independence, freedom from conflicts of interest, direct communication, impeccable service quality, and long-term relationships with its partners and their clients.
Our model is built on proximity and trust — with the independent asset managers who work with us, and with their clients, who are ultimately our clients too. That is something we intend to preserve as we scale. What convinced us in this RFP was the ability to industrialise onboarding and periodic reviews across the entire chain, from the asset manager to the end client, while keeping full control over our data and full transparency over how decisions are produced. Wecan's approach lets us grow faster without compromising on the high standards and the values that make Aquila what it is.
— Martin Rubi, Head Aquila Bank, Aquila AG
Aquila is an emblematic Swiss institution with an exceptionally demanding client base, and being selected through a competitive RFP is a strong validation of our positioning. Covering both intermediaries and end clients in one lifecycle is where complexity really sits, and it is where most platforms break. Banks do not need more AI demos — they need AI they can put in front of a regulator. Sovereign deployment and deterministic outputs are what turn artificial intelligence from an experiment into production infrastructure for client lifecycle management. That is exactly what we are building with Aquila.
— Vincent Pignon, Founder and CEO, Wecan Group
Implementation is under way, with the two teams working jointly on the roll-out.
