Fintech Wecan has appointed a new CEO. His career path also includes the major swiss bank UBS.
Philippe Reynier will become the new CEO of blockchain startup Wecan. He will take over this function on February 26 (today), according to a press release on Monday.

The new CEO has already been working as a consultant at Wecan since 2022 and is well connected in the crypto scene. Reynier is a member of the Crypto Valley Association. Before moving to the fintech field, Reynier worked in various functions over the timespan of five years at the swiss bank UBS, until the end of 2022. Among other roles, he was Head of Digital Strategy and Head of Business Development & Special Products. Previously, he worked as a consultant and project manager at the strategy consulting firm Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and as head of development at the European multi-country stock exchange Euronext.
Founder joins the Board of Directors
The former CEO and founder of Wecan, Vincent Pignon, will become the new President of the Group. In addition, Nathan Douet has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Oliver Ernst has been appointed Head of Business Development. Wecan aims to double the number of financial institutions, as well as the engagement of transactions on the blockchain and the Wecan token in 2024, as could be further learned.

Philippe Reynier wird neuer CEO des Blockchain-Startup Wecan. Er übernimmt den Posten am (heutigen) 26. Februar, wie einer Medienmitteilung vom Montag zu entnehmen war.
Bestens vernetzt
Der neue Chef ist bereits seit 2022 als Berater von Wecan tätig und in der Krypto-Szene bestens vernetzt; so ist Reynier Mitglied der Vereinigung Crypto Valley Association. Vor seinem Wechsel ins Fintech-Feld arbeitete Reynier bis Ende 2022 in verschiedenen Funktionen über fünf Jahre bei der Grossbank UBS. Er war unter anderem als Leiter der digitalen Strategie und Leiter Business Development & Special Products tätig. Zuvor wirkte er als Berater und Projektleiter für das Strategieberatungsunternehmen Boston Consulting Group (BCG) sowie als Entwicklungsleiter bei der europäischen Mehrländer-Börse Euronext.
Gründer wechselt in den Verwaltungsrat
Der bisherige CEO und Gründer von Wecan, Vincent Pignon, wird neu Präsident der Gruppe. Weiter wurden Nathan Douet zum operationellen Leiter (COO) und Oliver Ernst zum Leiter Geschäftsentwicklung ernannt. Wecan strebt für das Jahr 2024 an, die Anzahl der bedienten Finanzinstitute sowie die Transaktionen auf der Blockchain und mit dem Wecan-Token zu verdoppeln, wie weiter zu erfahren war. «Ich freue mich sehr, der Wecan Group als CEO in einer so kritischen und spannenden Zeit beizutreten.
